SMALL TOWNS

Those who grew up in small towns will laugh when they read this.

Those who didn't will be in disbelief and won't understand how true it is.

1) You can name everyone you graduated with.

2) You know what 4-H means.

3) You went to parties at a pasture, barn, gravel pit, or in the middle of a dirt road. On Monday
you could always tell who was at the party because of the scratches on their legs from running through the woods when the party was busted. (See #6.)

4) You used to'drag'Main .

5) You whispered the 'F' word and your parents knew within the hour.

Over the next few weeks I am going to highlight many of the festivals and fairs around Arkansas.  These will lead a person around the state and let them know the fun and the beauty of this state.  Many of these are on the list that I would like to visit.

I moved from Texas about 20 years ago and I do find Arkansas fun and beautiful.  Take in the festivals and come visit Arkansas.

Cheering on my team with my friends

Guest post written by Dawn Grant

I've made several friends over the years just from finding out that they're really big college basketball fans too. Somehow I figure out whether they are or not when I first meet them. It always comes out. I haven't really seen that many of my friends since the holidays though just because our schedules have been so busy. So I'm looking forward to this party even more.

I decided to try and find some good recipes to serve for the party because I want it to be extra special and have something else besides just chips and dip like at most of these types of parties. I want my gues! ts to enjoy both the game and the food. While I was looking up some recipes online, I found some information about enery packages and decided to sign up for one of them for our home energy service.

I've already planned to make some pulled pork BBQ sandwiches for my NCAA tournament watch party, along with some of my special homemade onion rings.

Legend of Kung Fu Package Deal

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Everyone is Kung Fu Overnightin’- Huh! Come stay at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and see Legends of Kung Fu Show. Wow!  I live three hours from Branson and who would have thought that I would have been writing about Kung Fu Package Deal.  Yes, the reason I write about this is the fact that it is happening at one of my favorite places, Branson, and at one of my favorite places to stay there which is Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing.  Yes, my family thinks that this is a great place to stay in Branson.

Staying at the  Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing while in Branson is a treat.  It is even a greater treat to be able to stay there while enjoying the great things to do at Branson such as the shows and the great attractions at Branson.  Some of the things that we are thinking about trying out this year are things that will appeal to me and the wife such as  the 70’s Supershow feat with The Village People and Lynard Skynyrd and ZZ Top Concert.  How much fun will that be for us old folks.  However, to even it out for the younger generation we will probably throw in something like Silver Dollar City Blue Grass & BBQ and something they always enjoy which is White Water which opens July 1 this year.

So, fun for the oldies and fun for the younger ones and a Kung Fu Show also.  How can any of this be wrong in Branson.

Something for everyone is what Branson has.  Check it out.

Steak from the Street

I like good steak.  I cook steak on the grill often.  I cook all the way from a flat iron cheap steak to a porterhouse steak.  There is not a steak that I won't cook.

I cook them simple with just seasoning and charcoal or if I am in a hurry I cook them over gas grill.  I sometimes marinade them but mostly not.  How do you cook your steak?

What I want to know is whether or not the street vendor that came down the street almost peddling steaks like an ice cream truck has good steaks or whether they are junk steaks.  I package of good steaks was supposed to be $25.   My fear is the quality.  Sounds like a great price.

Anyone out there ever bought from one of these guys?

WHY GOD MADE MOMS

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1.  She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2.  Mostly to clean the house.
3.  To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?

1.  He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2.  Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3.  God made my mom just the same like he made me.  He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?

1.  God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2.  They had to get their start from men's bones.  Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

1.  We're related.
2.  God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's mom like me.

What kind of a little girl was your mom?

1.  My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2.  I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3.  They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

1.  His last name.
2.  She had to know his background.  Like is he a crook?  Does he get drunk on beer?
3.  Does he make at least $800 a year?  Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

1.  My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world.  And my mom eats a lot
2.  She got too old to do anything else with him.
3.  My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?

1.  Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.
2.  Mom.  You can tell by room inspection.  She sees the stuff under the bed.
3.  I guess mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms and dads?

1.  Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.
2.  Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3.  Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friends.
4.  Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine..

What does your mom do in her spare time?

1.  Mothers don't do spare time.
2.  To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

1.  On the inside she's already perfect.  Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2.  Diet.  You know, her hair.  I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

1.  She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean.  I'd get rid of that.
2.  I'd make my mom smarter.  Then she would know it was my sister who did it not me.
3.  I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

Easter

After the past few weeks with  wife going through some serious illness and just now beginning to get any strength back makes me appreciate Easter More.

Without Christ loving me to die for me I would not have the opportunity to have such a wonderful wife who loves me and loves the Lord.   I realize my love for her even more when I see the possibility that she could be taken from me so easily.

This gives me a greater love for the God who has given me such a precious lady to love and who loves me.

Thanks Lord for giving your life for me.

ER/Hospital

I Spent the last two weeks in the hospital but not as a patient. Started with Mother in law in for surgery and before she got out my wife got deathly ill and spent a week in the hospital.

Observations:
  1. Not a place to get rest - someone in every two hours.  Why dont they put all together and do it once.
  2. Chair in the room is tough to sleep in
  3. Not a good place for great air conditioner.
  4. Some nurses are rude but most are real nice.
Just my thoughts for now.

Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson has come on board as the new coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks.  Mike Anderson's opening press conference was like a religious revival.  Mike Anderson says if he is wrestling a bear, that you better come help the bear.  Mike Anderson says that if he is playing checkers with his grandmother, look out Grandma, I am playing to win.

Mike Anderson is saying all of the right things.  It will be several months to see if he can deliver.

Go Hogs.

Rumors Fly on Coaching Search

Depends on who you listen to as to what you think.

The folks at HawgsSports.com — the Rivals site for Arkansas — are now reporting the following:

UA will have a basketball coach in the next 48 hours.  I now think it will be Mike Anderson.  This has been a two horse race with Buzz (Williams) and Mike and I now think there will be a press conference either Wednesday or Thursday presenting the new basketball coach, and I think it is Mike.

That from Otis Kirk of the HawgSports site.

I believe that Agent Jimmy Sexton is playing the rumor game to get his client more money.

That is the bottom line.

Mike Anderson to Coach.

Good sources close to this blogger have confirmed that Mike Anderson will be announced tomorrow as the next Coach of the Arkansas Razorback Basketball team.

The next question that most will have is the fact as to whether or not the great recruiting class of John Pelphrey will continue to come to Arkansas.

A source close to this blogger has confirmed that Mike Anderson and Jeff Long have made a possible contact with each and they agree that they will play for Mike Anderson.

There you have it.  Internet Blogger Fact.

March Madness - Arkansas is Mad

Why is Arkansas so mad during March Madness?  Well the reason is that Arkansas now has no men's teams in the tournament.

There is always next year we say.  How many years have we said that.  It has been since 1994 and the Nolan Richardson error of great basketball.

We are now looking for a new coach that can bring us to the big dance again.

Who will that coach be -  Mike Anderson?  - Don't think so..

What do you think?

FACTS

SEC TOURNAMENT OVER

PELPHREY GONE

BRING ON A NEW COACH THAT CAN WIN!

SIGNED A RAZORBACK FAN.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Arkansas, John Pelphrey and Apple Pie.

What do these three things have in common is the question of the day.  Most of you know:

  • Arkansas is a state that loves its Razorback football and basketball programs.
  • John Pelphrey is the current coach of the Arkansas Razorback Basketball Hogs
  • Apple Pie is something that is still liked even after John Pelphrey is fired.
What do you think.  If John Pelphrey does not win the SEC tournament will he still be the coach when Monday comes.

Safe on the Border of Mexico

You know it is safe on the Border towns of Mexico when you read this story.

------

The farther south Bart drove, the more worried he became.  He sold 1,000 Mexican steers to a feedyard and they insisted he had to be at the border when the cattle were crossed.  His concern was that with all of the recent border violence, combined with his innate ability to be at the wrong spot at the right time for a disaster, it was likely something really bad was going to happen to him.

By the time he reached the border town, Bart was as nervous as a deer on a firing range.  With his survival instincts at a fever pitch, he astutely checked into a motel with an adjoining restaurant that was farthermost from the border.  And with a bunker mentality that rivaled Hitler's, Bart vowed that after he had dinner, he was going to seclude himself in his room for the night.  While eating, he struck up a conversation with a guy at the next table.
"You ever think about moving to a safer place to live?" Bart asked.

The man replied, "A lot of what you see on the news is exaggeration.  It's just not that bad down here.  My wife and I live in a nice neighborhood, our kids go to excellent schools, and we have good jobs."
Greatly relieved, Bart asked, "What do you do here?"

The guy answered, "I'm the tail gunner on a Budweiser truck."

Hogs, Clark, Pelphrey and Gas

What are the relationships between the Arkansas Razorbacks, Rotnei Clark, John Pelphrey and the Price of Gas.

Well, this could be a real puzzle.  The Hogs are very unpredictable.  The price of Gas is unpredictable.  One day it was 2.99 at Walmart the next day it was $3.25 then back down to 3.15.   The Hogs play great one day and beat Kentucky right after they play lousy and get beat by a poor team.

As for as John Pelphrey - one game he is relaxed and non-demonstrative.  The next game he seems to be out of his gourd.

Rotnei Clark - great three point shooter one game the next game he can't hit a three pointer but is inside shooting and even blocks a shot.

I just don't understand it all.   $ 65 to fill up with gas?

President Obama Turns into Dictator

"President Obama has instructed the Justice Department to stop defending the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act, which has since 1996 allowed states to refuse to recognize same-sex partnerships legally recognized in other states."

How can our President tell the Justice department what to defend and not defend.  Especially when it is the law of the land.  Why not just declare it a communist state and move on.

What are we coming to.

Satellite TV

Satellite TV is in most peoples opinion the best way to get that television reception that you deserve.  Many people have to choose between satellite Television and cable.  Many of those choices are made toward Satellite Television and the great selection, variety and value that it brings to its many users.
Well, If you are wanting Satellite television the one that I hear advertised most in my area is Direct TV .  So the question that is posed here is whether or not it is the best way to go.  Most of the people that I have talked to says that it is a great buy and it works very well in rural Arkansas where we live.  These people say that it is a great value for the amount of programming that is brought to you through its services.
So if you want to use satellite television and you think that this might be the best plan for your viewing entertainment then you may want to check into how the best way is to get this service and the best choices for it.  You will want to know what the cost is and the programming is that you will receive.
Those are my thoughts on this.

Stock Car and Star Spangled Banner

I was watching the beginning of the Daytona 500 today and watched Martina McBride sing the Star Spangled Banner.   To start with she ain't no Christina Aguilar because Martina knew the words.  Isn't that amazing that a country star can sing the Star Spangled Banner and get all of the words right.

The second thing that was a surety that Martina sang the song without a whole lot of Garbling.  The song was sung like it was written with respect and pride.

Anybody see a pattern here.   Country stars seem to get it right and sing it right.  Others seem to get it messed up and they seem to think they have to put a lot in there that is not necessary.

What do you think

When Does the Big One Hit?

Magnitude - 2.4
Depth - 5km
Date - 18 FEB 2011 12:50:41
Location - Faulkner County, 3 miles NE from Greenbrier, AR

The above information is becoming something that I look at all too often here in Central Arkansas.  Twelve earthquakes have been recorded since midnight last night and seventeen the day before.  At least two of these quakes were 4.0 or over.

The thing that worries me is that all of these are happening within about 2 miles of my office.  There are some that are directly west of my office and most are just to the northeast of my office.  This may mean that there is a crack in the earth somewhere down there that goes right under may office.

If the big one comes, will I go down?

That is the question.

Looks like it is going to be a beautiful Valentine's day for Arkansas today.

Get out and take your wife out and have a beautiful and wonderful day of love.

Find a romantic outdoor place and hold her hand and tell her you love her.

That is what it is like here in Arkansas.

Cold in Arkansas - heat it up with Sports Illustrated SI

It is cold in Arkansas.  There is lots of snow in Arkansas.  There needs to be lots of hot people in Arkansas.
Publish Post

I wonder what it would be like to have a Sports Illustrated Swim Suit photo shoot with all of those hot women in Arkansas today.  Would those still be hot women or would they be as cold as I am.

I wonder if they could get into the cold water of the lake here and make it steamy hot.  I wonder what the results would be.  Would these hot women make any difference to global warming.

I doubt that any of this would happen.  What are your thoughts.?

Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening

I took these pictures yesterday near Lexington Arkansas.  Reminded me of the poem as I stopped to take the pictures.
---------------------------------------------

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

What Hogs Show

The Razorbacks get two chances this week to redeem themselves.  My guess is that they will lose both.

They are sick.  They stink.  The hogs Suck

John Pelphrey is a terrible coach.

The team is terrible.

They will never get any better with Pelphrey there.

Do you want to know how I really feel.

Shop Best Diets

Arkansas is just like the rest of America and maybe even worse.  Arkansans need to lose weight.  Arkansans need to find out how to get healthy with a lighter body frame.  By getting lighter we can find ourselves being healthier.  We can do this by several ways and the best is to live a healthier life style.
If you are like me though sometimes this healthier lifestyle might need some boost with something such as healthy weight loss pills.  There is always questions when you start thinking about losing weight by methods other than just putting less food in your mouth and exercising more.  Therefore, it is great to have a website that helps you find the best ways to get healthy and to help you decide things such as what are the best weight loss pills and which ones are best for me and my lifestyle.
So, if you are like me and most of Americans, you need to lose some weight.  If you are looking for help in that emphasis and want to know more about healthy living, then you might want to check out shopbestdiets.com
This is my thoughts for now.  Excuse me while I get ready for the gym.

Arkansas Razorbacks - Where did that team Come from.

I have been critical of the Razorback Basketball team lately.  They have seemed to just be running in circles with no coaching and no real game plan.

Last night was different.  They played and beat the #19 team in the country.  They looked good doing it.  Sanchez and Clark show was what it was.  They scored, rebounded and just plain hustled.  Why the difference.

There even appeared to be a game plan and some good coaching.  Could it simply be that the team decided to play as a team, find the strengths of the night and work the scheme that the coach has planned.

Sounds good to me.  Can it keep happening when they play Georgia at home in a short while.

I doubt it. Who knows.

Arkansas Basketball - High School Style

Last week Florida just barely beat Auburn, the Worst basketball team in the SEC, by only 7 or 8 points and in the same week Arkansas took the Best record team in the SEC east, SC to overtime before getting beat.

Then Saturday night Florida blows out Arkansas.  Arkansas looked like a High School team.  No - take that back they looked like a Junior high team.

John Pelphrey has one of the best recruiting classes in the nation coming in next year.  If he doesn't get to coaching better, someone else will get to win with that team.

Hogs When?

Two posts ago was about the Hogs playing on TV at that time.  They went in at half down 5.  Expected it to be over then.

I went away for most of game and came back with 5 minutes left.  Hogs were up 7.  Wow - Way to go.  You can win this one.

Regulation time ends in a tie.  Hogs go south in overtime and get beat about 7 or 8 points.  Who cares which one.

John Pelphrey - what is the problem.

Go Hogs????

Crowd Control done Right.

There are many places and businesses that have need for crowd control.  Most people think of this as having something to do with an out of control crowd or a police action.  However, this is simply considering the fact that there are many places that could use stanchions to keep people in a line or in order.  Some of the places where this would work could be a bank, concerts, political events or even at the grocery store and anywhere that someone needs to have an orderly line.

Yes, stanchions are a standard way to do this.  There are retractable belts, velvet rope and many other ways of creating lanes or barricades to direct or keep crowds moving in the right direction or in the right place.  Barricades can also be considered for traffic control, security and privacy.  Barricades can be fences, traffic cones, pipe walls or even drape walls.

So with this new thoughts about crowd control, you may even decide that it is something that you or your company may have a need for.  What do you think.  Do you have any needs for this.  If so you know how to search online to find what you need.

These are my thoughts for now.

Hogs Now

The Hogs are on TV right now.  I quit at half to watch Criminal minds.  I have not checked back yet.
They were behind 5 at the half.  Razorbacks did not deserve to be on the floor as many shots as they had missed.

Could not figure why they were still hanging in.  Hope they win but expect when I get back to the game the score will be lopsided for the other Team.

Can John Pelphrey last.

Get Online Freebies

Are you one of those people that gets excited about getting free samples or just about any type of free stuff?
Does just getting the opportunity to get something like free cell phones make you so excited you tremble?  If the answer to these things is yes and yes then you need to make haste to the website that I have recently been introduced to called FreeCatcher.com.  This site has it all.

I went to the site just to review what they had to offer so that I could talk about it intelligently and found myself going through all of the pages that were there to see what was available.  Yes, while I was there I found myself clicking the links and signing up for free products.  I found that you could get free product offers online, by mail, free trials, free coffee and just about anything you could think of had something to offer in some way.  What is best about it was it was free.

So, if you are into getting free stuff  like most people are, then you need to get to this site in a hurry and get started.  You will be glad that you did.  That is my thoughts on that.

Arkansas Basketball

Arkansas Basketball is at a Crossroads. The question is what do you do when you come to the fork in the road. The joke answer is that you pick up the fork and eat with it. The question for the Razorbacks and for John Pelphrey is what will they eat.

Will the Razorbacks eat crow or will they eat their opponents? Will they eat the right stuff or will they get eaten up.

Will Pelphrey get to stick around next year to be able to work with this great class that he has recruited or will he be thrown out for someone else.

If Pelphrey were to get fired, who would replace him that is any better.

Those are my thoughts for now.

Go Hogs.

The Steam Team Austin–Cleaning up!

Ok, the dog has been tracking all over the carpet, the house is about five years old and things such as the tile and the carpet are dingy.  Well who are you going to call to get the best tile cleaning machines that austin has to offer?   You probably should call The Steam Team of Texas.  They are probably one of the premier companies for carpet & rug cleaning austin has to offer

Yes, this appears to be a great company in Austin.  They say that they have all of the commercial steam cleaners austin people might want.  These include getting the right cleaning at the right price.  This could also include the fact the needs that you might have if you have ever had a fire.  That would mean that they are also a premier fire & water damage austin cleaner and they can get the job done.

So, if you have cleaning needs you should give them a call. They are in Austin and they can get the job done.

Auburn won the National Championship.

What is the ties that this has to Arkansas:

  • Auburn is one of only three teams to beat the Hogs this year.
  • Michael Dyer - Player of the Game is from Arkansas
  • Gus Malzahn - offensive coordinator is from Arkansas and coached for the hogs.
  • Kodi Burns from Arkansas
  • Lee Ziemba From Arkansas

Laptop Carts are great to Have.

Laptops are the favorite computer for homes.  It is great to have something that is so portable and easy to maneuver and use but it is also important to have laptop carts that can easily store the laptop or make it easily accessible in your favorite place.

Yes, I faced this just recently.  I did not have a laptop cart or any laptop storage close to the place where I use my laptop everyday.  I would simply use my laptop in my easy chair in the evening as I  watched television and then set it over in the floor.  This was not good as when the dog would walk through or for that matter when I would walk through we had to dodge the laptop.  It was always in the way.

Well, just this past weekend, I bought a storage unit for my laptop.  It is now out of the floor and is out of the way.  This can also serve as a stand for using the laptop.  All of this works so much better than just putting it in the floor.

So how about you. If you are in the market for laptop storage you should check out these companies on line and get what you need.

This is my thoughts for now.

Ryan Mallet - Will he or Won't he?

OK this is one of the biggest questions in Arkansas right now after Razorbacks lost the Sugar Bowl.  Ryan Mallet did not show up as good as he should have and everyone believes that this hurt his standing in the next NFL draft.

Most people believe that because of this he should stay at Arkansas for his senior year and play for the Hogs.  I think that this would be ok but there is a backup called Tyler Wilson that I believe will be good also.

So if you were Ryan would you come back or not.  You might not get as high in the draft and so your annual income might be cut down to only 5 or 6 million per year.  What if he came back to Arkansas and got hurt for a career ending injury.  Where would he be then.

Go Ryan go.

There is Gold in an IRA or 401K.

I think gold is a great investment right now and I want to know if a  gold IRA makes any sense.  That would mean that  IRA gold could increase in great amounts and it would possibly work toward an early retirement.  Has anyone out there wanted to buy gold and make it a part of something such as a  gold 401k?   Is all of this nonsense or is this something that could be accomplished by a simple man as me.

This goes to the point of asking if anyone out there in cyber land ever wanted to do something and you were not sure what or how to do it?  If so this would be a good time to consult the experts about these things such as having a  401k gold account.

Well, in a previous more adventurous time in my life I have bought and sold gold without help of the experts. . With that behind me I have found that it is better, to consult the experts rather than risk all of my savings on my own knowledge.  That is why I believe that if I make these type of gold investments that I am going to use some experts such as those at  http://www.goldcoinsgain.com

I have visited there site and they appear to be a company that knows gold and how to make it work best for me and for those that see the need to use them as the expert.   They could  help someone buy and sell gold and other coins in a way that could be very productive. They even have the expertise to complete a gold IRA transfer that is easy and very manageable.

As you can see, I believe that Gold is good and when trading gold in what ever form, it is best to use the experts.  That is my thoughts about gold at this time.

Sugar Bowl

The State of Arkansas is in pure ecstasy as the Razorbacks are approaching Tuesday night and the Sugar Bowl.

You would think it was the Superbowl.  Fans are excited.  People who are not fans are excited.

Wonder why we can't get excited about the rest of life like this.

Yea Work - ever here that any time lately.

That is the state of mind in Arkansas.

Book Publisher–New to Me

I am  trying something new.  In researching the new Kindle that I bought for my wife for Christmas, I discovered that a book for Kindle does not have to have all of the beautiful hardcovers and the illustrations, it is best just to have content.

I realized that I had a lot of recipes that  had been accumulated over the past few years along with a little humor to go with them.  All I had to do was get these in an acceptable form and I could publish a book.

This lead me to Publishing Kindle books under Hillbilly Willy Productions.   The first two books are Hillbilly Willy Smoking Meat Course and Hillbilly Willys Deserts.

If you have a Kindle and are interested in a couple of short books that you can put on your Kindle and have available then check these out.

It would appreciate it.

Why Fox Is My Favorite Sports Network

Guest Posts are occasionally used on this blog.  Hope you enjoy what they have to say.

Contributed by Vickie Tyson

I enjoy watching a lot of pro football, particularly NFC games. Fox covers the NFC and does an excellent job of it. The pregame show that features James Brown, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Jimmy Johnson is my favorite one to watch. When I turn on my satellite TV from www.tvbydirect.com/ on Sunday morning, I find that they always give the best analysis.

As far as game commentary goes, I don't think there is a better duo out there than Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Joe is a seasoned announcer with a smooth voice and a good eye, and Troy's experience as a Super Bowl-winning quarterback allows him to give insights that lesser players may not understand.

Fox also has top-notch post-game coverage that always keeps me up to date on everything else happening in the games I didn't watch. I find Howie Long to be especially an especially lucid and thoughtful commentator, providing a in-depth look at things from the perspective of an honest (and very talented) former player.

For the best in NFL coverage, I always choose Fox, and hey, how can you go wrong with a station that has a performing robot animation (Cletus) on the sides of the screen?

Big Deal In Arkansas

There are two big deals in Arkansas these days. Can anyone guess what they may be?

1. Arkansas is going to the Sugar Bowl. Many people are so excited that they can not hardly wait. They are talking about how we will do and many are excited about next year.

2. Coach Bobby Petrino has signed a big payout contract which says it would be difficult for him or the University to change their minds for several years. This excites those who like him, and there are many, and it ticks off those that do not like him. In my opinion it gives Razorbacks something to look forward to.

Oh Yeah. Most of us are interested in the fact that it is Christmas. What are you interested in.

Real Security Training from Real Security Experts

Are you living in the Chicago area?  Are you in need of additional computer certifications?  If you answered yes to the above then you know what I am talking about when we talk about schooling opportunities for Chicago CCNA.  But what if that is not where you live?  What if you live in the San Diego area.   Then you might want to look for San Diego CCNA training on the internet.

Well, have you figured out yet what I a am saying from out here in Rural Arkansas?  What I am saying is that wherever you live there is probably an advanced programming or computer course in your area.  Lets assume that you in the area and are looking for a Virginia Cisco Course.   Who are you going to call?  Ghostbusters?  I don’t think so.  You are going to get online and check out Virginia MCITP training and find out what you need and where you need it and then get signed up.  That is what you should do.

I would guess for all of you computer guys in Arkansas that you can find similar training to get your certifications and training that you need.  I guess if you are needing it or wanting it, you will find a place to get it.

This is my thoughts for now.

Search Local with Local.com

Do you find yourself doing what should be a great search just to see that the items that you find from your search has no pertinence to what you are looking for in your local search.  Does that make sense?

Well, if you have those issues trying to search and find local restaurants or other local businesses, then you might want to try out Local.com.  It is a local search engine which is more than just an online local yellowpages.  Local.com is a hybrid of the following sites - Citysearch.com, Yelp.com, Yellowpages.com, Superages.com.

So what does this do for you when you are trying to do a local search.  Well, since it is partnered with all the above mentioned sites, Local.com can offer the idea of allowing users to visit 1 site to view the contest from all these sites. With this you get accurate driving directions, business contact information and hours.  It can also help you get reviews in aggregate of reviews from multiple sites.  What you are getting is  one stop searching for finding local businesses and services.

What can be better than this?

What is on your Agenda

Not sure what is on your agenda but hear in Arkansas the main thing on our minds along with Christmas is the Hogs. The Razorbacks soon will play in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on January 4th.

The questions are -

can I make it in person.

Where will I watch it.

Can I get rooms.

Who still has tickets.

What the Cell Phone Sees

It is amazing the sites that you can see in Arkansas. In this series of what the cell phone sees, I have picked out a scene taken a month or so ago with the cell phone.

Arkansas is a beautiful place and even though it is hard to see the background is a beauty with the colors of the season.  If you have never been in the Arkansas Ozarks in the fall of the year you should try it sometimes.  Simply gorgeous.

Bad Credit–Fix it!

This is the time of the year that good credit is a good thing but it is also the time of the year that many people get in trouble with their credit.  What do you do if you get in credit trouble?  Well there are many options out there and here is what I found when I was looking for someone to provide credit repair services that could possibly improve my credit score.

Yes, there are services out their such as the The Credit People which appears to be a great site that deserves some interest in this credit repair search.  Another site that I found to Repair Your Bad Credit is linked to those words.  It has some different options and ideas that you might be interested in.

So you see that in this search for a credit repair service there was some great results and results that you might want to check out.  It all goes back to a statement that I learned early in life in the fact that if you do not protect your credit it will haunt you the rest of your life.  Well, that may be true but there are options that you should check out that can turn that around.
