Company NCAA Brackets - Waste of time or Not?

I don't know about most of you but my bracket is about busted. It is amazing that there can be so many company man hours spent on a basic project such as this that people say wastes company time.

Well my thoughts are this... My company spent thousands of dollars for meetings last year that were supposed to bring us together as a team and build comradre as team members. It did'nt work that well.

There is more discussion, more comadre, and more togetherness build and felt by the employees through the NCAA bracket game then there are through the money that the company spends to gain the same. This is mostly done through email, snail mail and online games.

Yes the time spent is non productive time away from the daily grind.

Or is it non productive time?

Loans, Mortgages & Credit - needed by most!

Is there a need for payday loans? I am not sure but the fact is there comes a time and a place that everyone needs a little extra cash. When I first moved to the state that I live in now, I found my self just in that predicament.

I had just moved and bought a new house. My wife and child had not moved with me at the time and the loan on the new house had not closed. I found that the small cash downpayment that I was using to close the house loan had not been transferred to my new account here.

I was in need and somone came through. There is a time and a place for most things.

This loan was greatly appreciated.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Well, the basketball team had a fair tournament. In spite of the weather problems and everything else in Atlanta the Hogs played a couple of good games. The problem is that they failed to play against Georgia.

Georgia who should have been worn out and tired, out hustled, out shot and out rebounded the lazy Hogs.

Well, we get to see at least one more game in the NCAA tournament,

We can only hope that they show up to play.

Arkansas basketball and SEC tournament

Well it looks like the thought was right that Vanderbilt beat Auburn and now the hogs will play Vandy tomorrow early afternoon. Not sure why we couldnt do the game at night so working stiffs could watch the game.

It appears that Arkansas only gets to the NCAA tournament if they win at least this game.

Do we think they will go?

We sure hope so.

My thoughts on Basketball for now.

UALR Trojans - Another Arkansas Basketball Team

UALR Trojans are playing their second game in the Sunbelt Tournament tonight. Hopefully, they will win this one and go on to be invited to the NCAA tournament. I know that it is impossible but the dream game would be for the Trojans and the Razorbacks to meet up in a NCAA tournament game.

Well, not going to happen but I would look forward to both teams being in the NCAA tournament and doing well. I do believe that they may both be in the tournament. It is the doing well that concerns me.

Arkansas Razorbacks, SEC Tournament, NCAA

The SEC tournament bracket is listed below. The Razorbacks first game is on Friday against the winner of the Auburn - Vanderbilt game. Most believe that that winner will be Vanderbilt. The Hogs just came off of a win against Vanderbilt in Bud Walton Arena - but the Hogs have had difficulty winning at home.

The questions are:

• Can the Hogs win at a Neutral site against Vanderbilt?
• If the Hogs lose to Vanderbilt will they get to go to the NCAA tournament?
• Will Sonny Weems Show up?
• Will the Hogs play like a high school team?

Strange Week of Weather

We had a strange week of weather in Arkansas. One week ago the temperature was about 70 degrees and sunshine.

On Monday it began to rain and then turned colder. By Tuesday morning we had a couple of inches of snow.

Wednesday the sun came out and most of the snow melted.

Thursday evening news of a major snow storm was circulated and Walmart and the stores were covered with the usual buying of milk and bread etc.

Friday night and some all day Friday it snowed off and on. Accumulations only about 2 inches in our area, some areas with 8-10 inches and some with none.

Today is Saturday again and the sun is out. Expected high about 50 degrees and sunny.

Hogs - Can they Win?

The Hog basketball team plays Auburn Saturday evening and the question is - can the Hogs win this last game before the SEC tournament or instead of real Razorbacks are they a Timid Hog as the one at the right.

When the Hogs go on the road they seem to lose all of their drive and seem to just want to get the game over and get back to fayetteville. Well, the Hogs are home this week and hopefully this will translate into an win that should happen, but will it happen is always the question.

If the Hogs lose this one they can kiss the NCAA tournament goodbye if they havent already.

Razorback Basketball

I haven't mentioned the Razorback basketball players in a while along with John Pelphry due to the fact that I was so frustrated with them that I just did not want to think about it.

They played Alabama on the road the other night and both teams looked worst than a third rate High School team. The problem was that Arkansas looked like the worst of the high school teams and came out the loser.

Then the Razorbacks return to the court and play the team that beat Tennessee the other night and turn around and beat them. Mind you it was not a thrashing or anything but we played with heart and enthusiasm and won the game. I dont care how they play - just win.

Then I looked at Kentucky today playing Tennessee and saw a coach that Arkansas thought they had as their coach a while back taking a Kentucky team and almost beating Tennessee. He seems to know how to get it done.

Mind you I think John Pelphry is a good coach and I think the Razorbacks are going to reach gretness in the future. Just not this year.

Hope they do well in the SEC tournament and at least get to play a game in the NCAA tournament.

Mike Huckabee is the Man for All Seasons

Mike Huckabee, even though he is mathmatically out of the race, plugs on. I took a little R&R time yesterday and was on the couch flipping channels when I ran into Mike on the Tyra Banks show. It was not necessarily an intrigueing interview, but it wasnt bad. Even though I like Mike, Tyra made it better since she is not bad to look at. However, Mike wasted his time giving her Bass Guitar instructions.

Maybe Mike should go back to hanging out with the likes of Chuck Norris or Ted Nugent.
However, I believe he can hang with Tyra easier than he could mix it up with Norris or hunt in the Wildneress with Nugent.

Well there is always Rick Flair and realty wrestling to hang out with.

This just all goes to prove that Mike would make a good president or not! Maybe he should look at hosting a game show or talk show.

There has to be a future in this somewhere!
