Pacquiao vs. Mayweather

Pacquiao vs. Mayweather tickets will be one of the hottest items going the closer it gets to fight time.

Yes it is true. Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are going to duke it out LIVE at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Saturday March 13, 2009.

So you wanna go?!? If so you better start getting ready to get your tickets. This is going to be a great fight. Who will win you ask?

Well, I believe that Floyd Mayweather will win the fight. He has everything going for him and I do not believe that Pacquiao can take him down. However, I do believe that it will be a great fight. I believe that the fight will go the full rounds with a knockout by Mayweather in the last round.

If that does not happen then it will be a decision in the last round because I do not believe tha Pacquiao has the fire power to put Mayweather on the mat.

What do you think. Give me your thoughts here and what is more get ready to see the fight.

My thoughts for now.

Petrino - Florida?

Urban Meyer out - Bobby Petrino in at Florida. I don't think so. Petrino is good but I don't believe that Florida will be looking at him.

More likely that Stoops or Mullens or Shanahan or Houston Nutt - Just kidding about Nutt.

Arkanas Razorbacks will have Both Petrino and Mallet back next year.

My thoughts for now.

Go Green with Filtafry!

Go Green - this is not a cheer for a team, it is a fact that we are all coming to. To go green today is to save energy, and give a cleaner environment for the future.

Are you going green. Let us know what activities you are doing to your home, your business, your life or just your daily activity that is greener than it used to be.

In that same frame you should check out filtafry and see if this is something that might fit your ideas of going green. It appears to be a company providing good stable green products for the restaurant industry.

It says that FiltaFry Green Service Franchise Thrives In Down Economy. Sounds like a good franchise.

Hogs Basketball - Unhappy Campers

Listening to talk radio on way from work today. The Hogs won a game last night that many did not think they could win. When the game was over the John Pelphrey was excited and showed considerable emotion. Sounds ok doesn't it.

Well, people were criticizing his emotion, his coaching and some criticized the air that he breathes.

Get over it Arkansas Fans - he will get us there.

Get a Howard Miller Clock!

My daughter while growing up had a great affinity for sports. That would lead me to the fact that a sports type clock would be very interesting to fit into her pattern of things that she might like.

With that in mind a look at the howard miller clocks website gave the idea to possibly purchase a Texas A&M clock since that is my Alma Mater.

She would get a kick out of that and it would really be a conversation piece since we now live in Arkansas Razorback country and her friends are all Razorback fans.   Sounds like a unique idea doesn't it.  Well, if that does not fit what she might want since she is married with her own home now I guess I could consider getting her a traditional Grandfather Clock or something else more traditional.

I do know that if I do decide to purchase a clock for her or anyone else.  It will come from Howard Miller Clocks. They are a leader in the clock industry and have a great variety of clocks.

I also noticed while viewing their site that they have a blog with many interesting articles.  One of the interesting articles that caught my attention was one with some humor about  "Grandfather Clock Wedding Anniversary Present Gift"

So if you want to buy a clock, learn about clocks or read blog articles about clocks this is a great web site to visit.

Check it out.

Liberty Bowl - Arkansas Razorbacks

It is obvious that the Razorbacks should have won two games this year that they did not win. LSU and Florida. They will be much better next year if Ryan Mallet stays.

The Hogs are going to Liberty Bowl to play East Carolina. The game should be no contest. You see that I said should. Razorbacks should have 600 yards of offense and their defense should be able to stop this team.

If the team shows up - Arkansas kicks it. Maybe - Maybe not.

That is why we play the games.

ARKANSAS VS LSU

How many of you believe that this will be a close game.

There are those out there that believe that Arkansas will run away from it because LSU has been so upset over the screw up by Les Miles last week.

There are those that believe the problems of LSU last week will motivate them to come in and kick Arkansas off the field.

There are those that think Arkansas and Ryan Mallet and Bobby Petrino have the Razorbacks - Hogs - running so smooth that nobody could beat them this week.

Who knows --- That is why we play the games.

Arkansas and Arkansas Razorbacks!

I have lived in Arkansas for 20 years. I came from the great State of Texas which is known for its football. However, it has always amazed me at how this state engulfs the idea of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Here are some of the observations that I have made.

1. Seven out of 10 vehicles have some reference to the razorbacks.
2. 3 out of every 10 houses that fly any kind of a flag will often have a Razorback flag.
3. Cell phones have Razorback Screen savers.
4. Computer screen savers usually involve the Hogs.
5. Talk shows are consumed with the what if about the Football and Basketball teams.
6. Everyone is a Monday Morning Quarterback.

More is there I just cant think of it at this time.

Fall to Winter! - Where have all the people gone.

It has finally soaked in to my brain that fall has come and is moving past.  Today the wind changed to the North and became cold.

A Chill was in the air and the day was cold and brisk.

Where were most of the people out on this day when the weather changed?

They were in the woods - modern Guns season is here.

RUN BAMBI RUN!

This is Arkansas.

Hogs on the right Track

It appears that the Razorbacks are on the right Track.  The win over South Carolina was important and may be the stepping stone to bigger things.  Maybe even a good bowl game.

What are your thoughts - good or bad.

Nobody?

Who does the Arkansas Razorbacks play tomorrow.  Most people would say nobody.

What is Nobody's name?   It is Eastern Michigan.

Can Nobody beat Arkansas>

Only if Arkansas believes that they are Nobody!

Go Hogs Beat Eastern Michigan like they were Nobody!

World Series with Arkansas Ties.

I am not a baseball fan but I do find myself watching some playoff games and some of the world series.

I find it interesting the Arkansas ties to the World Series this year.

Last night Cliff Lee from Benton Arkansas pitched a great game.  Tonight AJ Burnett from Little Rock Arkansas is pitching for the New York Yankees.

Both seem to do a great job.  I am probably rooting for the player rather than the team.

When I root for the team, I guess I would root for Philadelphia.

Fall in Arkansas

We had hoped for a beautiful fall in Arkansas.  We have had plenty of rain and we have the chance for some beautiful fall colors.

However, the rain and wind comes and takes away the leaves before we have time to really enjoy them.

But as you can see here - rain comes and rainbows follow.

Fall is great in Arkansas

Hogs vs Ole Miss!

Look out Houston Nutt
The Hogs are coming to town.
On your face their should be a frown.

They are going to kick some tale
The golden handcuffs cannot prevail
Away on the wind your record will sail.

Go Hogs - Kick Houston Nutts

KIicker - Referee - Florida

The question would be - in the Razorbacks vs Florida on Saturday what three common factors caused the Hogs to lose 23 - 20.

The answers would be - Florida - did not play good - but some of that could be because our defense played good.

The Referee - two bad calls toward the end of the game were in Florida favor. - could have caused Arkansas the game.

The Kicker - Alex Tejada - if he had hit two field goals Hogs would have one 26 - 23.

Moral Victory - I don't think so - It is a loss

Big Game - Small Chance

Arkansas Razorbacks play the number 1 Team in the nation this week the Florida Gators.

Most would say that Arkansas' chance of winning is slim and none.

It appears that the chance that Arkansas would win is about the same odds as Matt Jones getting to play again in the NFL

My thoughts for now.

Which Team is the Best

Arkansas is a small state with only three real major football teams in it.

Most would say the major one that ties the state together is Arkansas Razorbacks - probably true.

Many others swear by Arkansas State - in the other corner of Arkansas - Small - sometimes good - many times not so good.  But Wait - Razorbacks are sometimes not so good.  Both are Division one football.

Many want to know - why don't the two teams play every year.  Would be a great in state game with lots of interest.

Who would gain the most from this game ASU or the University.

Who knows - Will we ever know - I doubt it.

Entrecard - Dumped

Entrecard has bee somewhat productive for driving traffic to my blogs but it has also been a pain in the rear.

A person can spend more time dropping than he does doing real productive work. They have been ok up to now with the way they handled paid ads allowing each site to decide to have them or not.

They have driven the last nail in their coffin by telling me that 15% of all ads will be paid on my site unless I pay them $50 fee.

It is my site and I can do it cheaper that paying them $50. I CAN DO IT BY DUMPING THEM AND ENCOURAGING EVERYONE ELSE TO DO SO. MAYBE THEY WILL RETHINK.

ENTRECARD IS GONE AS OF NOW.

Where are the Razorbacks

Not sure what happened today. The razorbacks kind of showed up for one quarter. Mistakes - dropped balls - penalties - were the name of the game.

Should we start saying yet that "wait till next year"?

Well - something has to give.

That is my thoughts for now.

Alabama - Kills Arkansas - Tuesdays's Prediction

Arkansas could'nt think about stopping Georgia in the last half last week.  Arkansas defense ended up being terrible against the pass.  Maybe Arkansas needs Way 2 Save RX

Was Joe Cox that good or was Arkansas safety s that bad.

Wait till we go to Alabama - they will make us think Georgia was a piece of cake.

Alabama - 48 - Arkansas 17

Razorbacks - Fire Petrino

Maybe the Razorbacks need to Fire Bobby Petrino.  Can you imagine the he received a 15 yard penalty for unsportsman like conduct during a time out.  Can that be so.  What is his problem.  Did he think that was smart.  Weren't the Hogs having enough problems as it was.

Maybe we should get Houston Nutt and Gus Malzahn back.  At least they are scoring big as well as winning the game.  Come on Bobby - get a new defensive coordinator.  Why would you let some punk kid like that Cox kid from Georgia score on you -- he doesn't even have the arm Ryan Mallet has.

Man - Razorbacks if we just had a coach.

- tongue in Cheek.

Football in Arkansas

Way Of Ninja : Discover your own way of the ninja
Last week got two popular college teams off to a good start.

Arkansas Razorbacks took on Missouri state and took care of business by beating them soundly and using the time to work on some things and study most of the players. -- Good Job Hogs.

UCA Bears - went to Hawaii and took on a top team - made a great showing and made them believe that UCA might win right up to the end. Gives UCA some respectable stats. -

Maybe if they had used or known about -
Way Of Ninja : Discover your own way of
the ninja
-they probably would have won

However, both of the teams are off this week - is it a conspiracy or what.

Looking forward to next week and more great Arkansas - UCA football.

By the way where is Gus Malzahn!

Hogs Win! - Mallet Good!

It appears in the win against Missouri state the Hogs have found that they have an excellent quarterback and a coach that is not quite as predictable as Houston Nutt.

Go Hogs - hurry through this week off and lets see some more football.

Hot Springs and Gangsters!

We recently spent a couple of days in Hot Springs Arkansas. The Wife and I decided that they wanted to see the much talked about Gangster Museum.

Well the only real gangster part of this ordeal was the fact that they robbed us out of about $18 to get in. The whole thing if done right could have been pretty interesting. However, we were led through four of five rooms with pictures in them - all pictures that can be found on the internet and downloaded for free. In each room a lady would tell us about the pictures on the wall along with asking people to move so people could see the pictures. For you see they had about twice as many people in the small room as there should be.

Next after telling the group about the pictures on the wall, she would punch up a video on a small screen on the wall and someone else would come on and go through much the same things that we had just been told. - I am a little slow but I figured out by the first room who the real gangsters were.

Well, the wife I made it through this and did gain a few interesting facts - but not many.

Then we went down to the new gaming room at Oaklawn race track and let some gangsters rob us of some more money. HOWEVER THIS TIME AT LEAST WE ENJOYED WORKING WITH THE GANGSTERS!

See Hot springs Arkansas!

Hog Football

Go Hog Wild - It isn't long until Bobby Petrino and the Razorbacks take the field. It also is not long until the ex player of Petrino takes the field with Philadelphia - you know - Michael Vick.

Well, this week also brought out the Razorbacks that are in the NFL - Peyton Hillis at the Denver Broncos, Felix Jones with the Dallas Cowboys, Darren McFadden with the Oakland Raiders.

And then there is Matt Jones - Will anyone pick him up.

We will see - Football is here! - 9 Wins is my guess

Web Hosting Rating and Reviews

One of the things that I like about blogging is the fact that their are many great web hosting sites that make the job easier. That way I can write about how great Arkansas is without worrying about the back end stuff such as is my web site up and running.

Many times though their is a need to find or check out web hosting to get the right fit for what you are doing. You know that company that has what you need and want without all that stuff that you don't need or want. Well I have found that one of the best ways to do that is by using certain comparison sites to find the best website hosting that is available.

Well, that can be done at WebHostRating.com This site has the means to help you find that web hosting that fits your needs. It gives you a top 10 ranking of hosting sites. It gives you an area with many articles. that help you know and understand what is available.

This site even has a nice directory, ratings and awards of web sites that host so that you can make an informed decision. It appears to be an excellent place to start looking when you need or want to host that special web site.

Maybe you should try this out today. In trying to develop and plethora of blogging sites this is very likely the site that I will use to determine what will be used for my hosting and other services.

While you are at it just remember that Arkansas is a great place to live.

Friends from Texas

Friends from Texas came through this week on the way to moving a child to Vanderbilt for college. It is always amazing to visit with friends and family and rekindle old memories.

It also still amazes me as to the comments that I hear about Arkansas. The comments are always to the idea of how pretty the state is. These comments came this last week as they had traveled up from Texarkana to Little Rock.

My comments about that is that they did not see the really pretty part of the state. The real beauty is in the Ozarks, the rivers, the lakes, the hills of north and north central Arkansas.

Arkansas has great beauty that many have never seen.

The last part of that is the experience that I had last week visiting Mt Magazine.

That is a beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting. About as nice as anything I have seen.

Lobo Landing resort - Excellent place

It is always fun to find a quick retreat from real life that is close to home. That is what I found recently in a Family outing to the Little Red River just outside of Heber Springs.

I found a cabin at Lobo Landing Resort and chose to stay in a cabin with river front view. The cabin is up and off the river but the river is accessible by just walking down a slope to the river.

I had no clue about the fishing but my son-in-law and daughter love to fish and got into it really well. Son-in-law did some fly fishing and wading. I waded and fished with rod and reel first evening.

Second day we took a boat out for half a day and really enjoyed the river. Son-in-law caught three and the rest of us caught none. Is he lucky or is he good.

Later that night he caught two more from the dock.

All of this is to say that Lobo Landing is a great get away for a short trip from the realty of life. I will be going back soon.

Nothing better than a cool fog on the River - even at midday in July.

Arkansas State Parks

This is a beautiful time to visit Arkansas. Yes, the daytime temperatures get a little hot and muggy but the sites are beautiful.

One of the great things in Arkansas is the State Park system. Take a look at the Parks in Arkansas and come visit this year. You will be glad that you did.

Just as the waterfall to the right streams over the site of the hills so will your appreciation for what Arkansas has to offer. This is just one of the many wonderful sites that you can see that will make you want to come back year after year.

Visit Arkansas and find out what you have been missing.

Evian Water Commercial - good Stuff!

Read about this commercial on several sites and thought it was worth reposting. Evian Water has put this together. Pretty good stuff. Enjoy.

Amazing Hummingbirds!

Hummingbirds are one of the most fascinating creatures I have ever seen. They fly at amazing speeds, they hover in one position easily and they seem very curious.

The best way to observe these marvelous creatures is to attract them to your back yard and even to your very own back porch. The way to do that is to find out where to get the best hummingbird feeders you can find.

I have had feeders in my yard for several years now and look forward to the annual migration to have the birds show up and start feasting on the feeders that I have in my yard. Most of my feeders are placed just off of the back porch so that I can stand in the window and watch the birds without being seen.

However, some years I make it a habit to stand real close to the feeders and let the birds get used to me being around. This allows me sometimes to get great views of the birds from a close distance. Again, the only thing that I can say is - fascinating. This is a marvelous creature that everyone should be viewing if they have the opportunity.

4th of July

The Fourth of July is a fun Holiday with all of the fireworks, cookouts and swimming and boating.

However, in Arkansas the fourth of July is also a dangerous holiday. There are always fireworks accidents that could be avoided with parental supervision.

There are swimming and boating accidents that are rooted many times in the abuse of alcohol. Don't drink and drive a boat or car. Don't drink and swim -- you do dumb stuff.

Take care and have a happy fourth of July holiday.

Cash4Gold - Wants U S to sell the federal gold reserves

Will the United States sell the federal gold reserves? Who knows but to know the rest of the story everyone should read the news as it broke in this press release recently. At that press release the world was informed that the United States may be looking at selling its gold reserve to help the economic problems of the country.

After that press conference Cash4Gold, America's #1 buyer of precious metals direct from the general public, announced an offer to purchase the U.S. national gold reserve for $240 billion! How wild is that the treasury said that they felt the intrinsic value of the gold reserves was worth about $2oo million. Then comes the offer for $240 million. Of course the value the government put on the gold is the simple market price for gold times the number of ounces of gold in inventory.

Cash4Gold sounds like they know how to make money from this. Just imagine that they take the gold and put artistic value to the gold and - wow - it is worth a ton of money. Sounds like they know how to do what can be done with gold.

What is even more interesting is that right now for a limited time they are offering to buy individual's gold for 20% added if received before the 4th. Not much time left. You must hurry! I am sure you have that unused gold just waiting to turn into cash.

Get in on the deal as quick as you can. Everyone is doing it. It is hot as fire.

Conway Movie Theatre

Conway Arkansas is a town busting out of about 55,000 people. It has two movie theaters. Both are dated about 30 years.

The city keeps working to get a new state of the art theater. People keep talking about it and most would support it.

Until then - I go to the movies to see the occasional chick flick with my wife and friends and then out to eat. Theater not that good but food and friends and wife are fun.

Even find myself getting closer to the softer side by kind of enjoying a chick flick. "The Proposal"

Pretty good movie and Betty White is great.

My thoughts for now.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Played in a golf tournament Sunday sponsored by a Church group. Preacher's prayer before the tounament started was short and to the point:

Dear Lord - help us to day because it is very hot out here. However, it is not near as hot as where some of these men will go if they don't change there ways.

Give us a good day.

Amen.

Arkansas - Hot - Fun -

Arkansas can get hot in the Summer but it can be hot and fun.

Golf and outdoor activities are fun in the spring and Summer. However, the weather outside today is going to be about 97 with heat index of around 105. This may make the golf tournament today a little challenging.

However, yesterday I went to the Dive Shop to work on my Scuba diving. This was a lot cooler in the indoor pool and some fun. Hopefully in a few weeks when it is this hot I can go to the lake and check out under the water - Cooler there.

Hot and Fun - that is what it is about.

Dog Itch - Lets fix! - Dinovite

We are lovers of Weimeraners. Big dogs that love attention. We are on our third one and these dogs stay in the house as house pets. We had originally thought that because they were short haired dogs that they would not shed. Wrong!

Our current dog sheds considerably and keeps the house a mess with dog hair. She also itches constantly. We often wonder if this is a problem. Well, tonight heard about Dinovite . I went to their solutions center and found out things that I did not know.

I found out that healthy dogs, no matter their breed, DON'T SHED year 'round? After owning the dogs I have I just assumed they all did shed all of the time.

I did not know that dogs should not stink, itch and scratch all day and all night? I had come accustomed to the itching and scratching and often a stink. You mean this is not normal?

This solution center website gave me reasons why so many dogs shed, stink and itch?

Their statement is that commercial dog food is cooked at extremely high temperatures and this destroys many of the delicate nutrients that a dog needs to be healthy. Basically, our pets walk around in a slight state of malnourishment, missing things like delicate vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes, beneficial bacteria, essential fatty acids. Excessive shedding, itchy skin and stink are usually signs of a nutritional deficiency.

Well the next question is how do I know. What do I do to fill in this gap, solve the problem.

Well, the website for Dinovite helped me with my solutions. You can go to their website and they will have you answer a few questions to help you find the Dinovite solution to your problems.

This is very neat and informative and can greatly help you decide how to solve your dogs unique problems in this area. If you are a dog owner you should check out this information.

You could help your dog be happy and carefree as mine above.

Hogs Win - I Sleep

ok - I blog last night about how the Hogs are finally ahead in the late innings.

I get ready to watch the remaining in bed. I watch the hogs go ahead in the 12th inning expecting that they will get in trouble again - expecting Virginia to get a couple of runs and win the game.

Sure nuff the Hogs get in trouble in the twelfth. Next thing I know I am waking up the game has been over for an hour and I have to wait till morning to see who won.

Old men cant stand the excitement.

Arkansas - A Great Place to Live

If a person does not believe that Arkansas is a great place to live they should have checked out the last two days.

Cool mornings turned into moderate temperature in the afternoons with low humidity. Weather is gorgeous - scenery is gorgeous - and today I skipped work.

Arkansas is a great place to live.

Queen Wilhelmenia Lodge

I was born and raised a Texan.

I have been in Arkansas about 20 years now - I am still a Texan.

Arkansas has some of the most beautiful places in the country.

Visited Queen Wilhelmina State Park this last week. At the right time of the year this place would be beautiful.

Just one of the many places to see in Arkansas.

Winthrop Rockefeller Institute: - Petit Jean Mountain

Winthrop Rockefeller Institute: -

Discovered this place over the weekend. It is several hundred acres donated by the Rockefeller Family to the University of Arkansas for the ongoing learning institute that was established by the Rockefellers some time ago.

The place was very nice, had a nice restaurant, great views and great facilities for overnight stays and meetings.

Check it out - Arkansas is a great place to live!

American Idol - Kris Allen - Stoby's Cheese Dip!

Well, I shouldn't admit but some mornings when my wife is going in late to work she will talk me into doing the same. We will take the extra time to eat out at breakfast, something we rarely do.

We often chose Stobys restaurant which is a little hole in the wall sandwich shop. They have one of the best breakfasts going. Again, a little pricey but very good.

Biscuits and Gravy for the wife. Eggs over easy, hash browns, biscuit gravy and jelly for me. Very good.

Also, the place Kris Allen of American Idol - mentioned - he ate there when he came home for a visit. They gave him cheese dip for life.

If you have never eaten Stoby's Cheese dip - you are missing it. Ask Kris Allen.

8 out of 10 Stars.

Rain Gone?

We have finally had two beautiful spring/summer days in Arkansas. It is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful state.

Great to be golfing - Great to be fishing - even ok to be mowing the yard.

Hope the rain stays away a while - Until August.

Those are my thoughts for now.

Arkansas Natural Hazards

"Flooding and Arkansas, unfortunately, seem to go hand-in-hand. Of the state’s past 33 Presidential disaster declarations, 22 have involved a flood. That’s two out of every three."

That lead story from KARK 4 News tells it all about flooding in Arkansas. The last few days tells the rest. The facts are what lead me to say that Flood Insurance is an important thing to have in Arkansas!

Federal Coordinating Officer Mike Moore of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) states:
"Both the history of flooding in this state and the many floods throughout the midsection of our nation are reminders that flooding is a serious risk to Arkansas residents and the economy," “Homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage and less than one per cent of Arkansas residents and business owners have flood insurance.”

When was the last time you saw something flood that you did not expect to flood. Do you need flood insurance? Look outside your window right now if you are any where near central Arkansas.

The rain is coming down! Only last weekend it rained anywhere from 3 - 8 inches depending where you are at. The ground is saturated and there is more rain falling. Predictions have the next rain at possibly another 3-5 inches in certain places. Where will the water go? Hopefully not in your house. If it does YOU WILL BE DEVASTATED!

I am not trying to be gloom and doom - just a realist.

All I can say again is that flood insurance could be very important to you and if you have any desire to find out more you should check out your needs for this insurance.

Success is in the Eye of the Fan!

Things are already heating up about next season for the Arkansas Razorbacks. I am talking about football and basketball.

In Football fans are seeming the think that coach Bobby Petrino has everything going his way and will have a fairly good season. At least some think that. Others are more skeptical and others are more optimistic.

Then their is Basketball. Fans are saying there that this is the year that Pelphrey better have it going right. If not they are saying it is time for another coach.

Question is - Where could we get one that seems to embrace Arkansas tradition like John Pelphrey.

The success is in the eye of the fan!

Outdoor Fun?

Blackhawk SERPA - Holsters, hats, gear of all kinds. Talk about outdoor fun, what could be more fun than having all of the tactical gear that you can get your hands on.

Well, this is the site that can help you do that. If it has to do with Police gear, holsters, good canvas gear and just about anything else of this kind, this website has it.

Look no further here it is - fun - come and get it - I think!

That is my thoughts for now!

Razorback Baseball

How many of you watch the Hogs baseball.

How many of you believe they have a chance to make it to the College World Series.

I believe that they will rally and be a great contender. - They almost have it together.

Stand by for more.

Tactical Gear

Maxpedition - what is that you ask? Well, I am not really sure but it has to do with manufacturers of hard-use military specification nylon gear. Ok! So now you know!

Know what you ask! You know what it is. Well military tactical gear is something that many people are looking for and like to wear or like to use. Tactical gear - wow - must mean military style duffle bags, back packs, sheaths pouches, radios.

A person would just have to go to the site and see what all it means. There is too much to describe. If you think there is nothing there for you, then think again. There is something there for everyone.

That is my thoughts for now!

Arkansas and Earth Day!

Arkansas is a great place to spend earth day. Today was about 80 degrees outside. The trees and flowers are blooming and the earth is beautiful.

The only problem with earth day was that I was in the office and not playing golf or fishing!

My thoughts for now.

Rain Clears the Air

Arkansas is a beautiful place and it gets lots of Rain. Coming from the arid part of Texas it still amazes me that this much rain can fall in an area as it does here in Arkansas but yet there can come a month or two such as August and September when the yards dry up and burn for lack of water.

But as for now I am thankful for the rain. It has cleared the pollen from the air and refreshed the area.

It also held off today until I had played 9 holes.

Miracles happen.

That is my thoughts for now.

Direct Buy - A Great Buy!

That is what I am hearing is that Direct Buy is the greatest thing that has come along in saving money on those things that cost you the most. What is Direct Buy you ask. Well, direct buy is undoubtedly the best way to buy such things as furnishings, appliances, flooring and much, much more at a price that totally blows away the retailer.

Yes, that is what I said was that it totally blows away the retailer because you are buying at a direct price and skipping all of the middle men. This gives you a price that is much less than you can get at the average retail store.

How can that be wrong. What is even better is that this opportunity to visit a Direct Buy is available right here in Arkansas.

But what is even more fascinating is that this is available to visit Direct Buy Rocklin, Direct Buy Brooklyn and Direct Buy Queens

Not sure why anyone would leave beautiful Arkansas to go up north but if you do it is available there.

Try out Direct Buy!

Arkansas has a cheap Coach

Calipari - 35 Million for 5 years to coach - I thought that was what I heard. This is the guy that lost to Mike Anderson of Missouri.

Arkansas has a cheap coach - give him another year and we will see Pelphrey do bigger and better things.

Lot cheaper than Calipari.

Those are my thoughts for now.

First Week of NCAA tournament gone!

Well, the first week of the tournament is over. My Bracket has 10 losses in it but nothing that has totally taken my final teams out of the picture.

My overall Winners are Kansas and North Carolina.

Might be ok - Probably wont be ok.

Great Web hosting Made Easy

Many times as I look for a new webhosting company for my websites I find a maze of information in a frenzy of places. I am constantly trying to sort all of this out to see what is best for me, my ideas and ultimately the sites that I am hosting.

Well, I need to worry no more. I have found a site that makes great web hosting come much easier. That site is called Web Hosting Geeks. Why do I like this site so much? Well, the reason is that it brings the resources provided by many sites together in one place so that I can quickly and easily review each hosting company and decide which one will serve my needs best at the cheapest price.

Just look at the front page as you enter their site. "Top 10 Web Hosting — Best Web Hosts (2009)" is the first thing that you see. This gives a list of these hosting companies along with the benefits and features of each.

What more could want to make an easier decision... and that is just a small part of what they do.

Check them out if you are looking for web hosting. You'll like what you see.

Spanish, French, Lousiana and Arkansas

Wikipedia says the following:

The first European to reach Arkansas was the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto at the end of the 16th century. Arkansas is one of several U.S. states formed from the territory purchased from Napoleon Bonaparte in the Louisiana Purchase.

Well it looks as if we are going back to our roots. The Spanish population in Arkansas has grown significantly over the past 10 years. Maybe they are looking for Mr. Desoto.

I think it is great that we seem to becoming a more diverse society.

One thing I am glad is that even though we were a part of the Louisiana Purchase we are not known as Louisiana.

They are one of the few things that keep Arkansas from being first in bad statistics.

Custom Embroidered Apparel

Things that I might do to promote my website or company would certainly involve custom sweatshirts.

Blue75x75

Custom Embroidered Apparel

Yes what can be better than to have your logo on your shirt talking about your company. Website design is my bag and I have two brands that I try to promote. Going to this site and uploading a logo and ordering shirts is a great and easy way to gain that promotional edge that I might need to get ahead.

Yes, many things are about recognition and a way to get that recognition is to use custom designed logos on you outer wear.

Great idea - right.

Try it out.

Big Day at Fayetteville

Tomorrow is a big day for the Arkansas Razorbacks. No it is not who they play or that the game means anything. It is about honoring Former Razorback coach Nolan Richardson.

Yes, Nolan left on a slippery slope and there was much friction between he and the university for several years. However, with the new AD Jeff Long and the retirement of Frank Broyles, the mood has changed.

Coach Pelfrey, and the entire state seem to be embracing the kiss and make up idea with Coach Nolan Richardson.

Maybe it has been the curse of Nolan that has been on the team since he left. Maybe this will be the beginning of greatness back for the Arkansas razorbacks.

Maybe or maybe not.

Time will tell.

Arkansas Razorbacks.

Did anyone concerned with Arkansas Basketball listen to the game.

Wow - the Hogs have figured out how to get it into overtime now but still haven't figured out how to win the game.

My prediction is that the Hogs will win the SEC tournament and get into the NCAA tournament.

Any thoughts on that one.

Moving to Alaska?

As you can see in previous posts Arkansas is a great place to live. However, there are many other great states to live and one of those might be Alaska.

If you are moving to Alaska or maybe moving to Hawaii or maybe making a military move, you need to know about ABF U-Pack Moving.

ABF U-Pack Moving is a "you pack, they drive" moving service. ABF will deliver a trailer or ReloCube (moving container) to your location. You load the container, ABF picks it up and delivers it to your new location. You then unload and they pick it up.

How are the prices you ask? Well, the prices are comparable to rental truck prices for long distance moves. The good thing about this, however is that ABF does the driving.

U-Pack is less expensive than a full service mover but more convenient than a rental truck.

So what do you think about that. Pretty cool right?

You might even want to know that ABF U-Pack is in good standing with the Better Business Bureau and has a great rating with consumer opinion sites like movingscam.com and epinions.com.

Good information if you are moving.

Arkansas - What makes up the state.

The state of Arkansas is a great but small state. It has an abundance of natural resources and is known as the Natural state. For more information on the state you can see that the Mississippi River forms most of Arkansas's eastern border, except in Clay and Greene counties where the St. Francis River forms the western boundary of the Missouri Bootheel, and in dozens of places where the current channel of the Mississippi has meandered from where it had last been legally specified.[5] Arkansas shares its southern border with Louisiana, its northern border with Missouri, its eastern border with Tennessee and Mississippi, and its western border with Texas and Oklahoma.

Arkansas is a land of mountains and valleys, thick forests and fertile plains. The so-called Lowlands are better known by names of their two regions, the Delta and the Grand Prairie. The Arkansas Delta is a flat landscape of rich alluvial soils formed by repeated flooding of the adjacent Mississippi. Further away from the river, in the southeast portion of the state, the Grand Prairie consists of a more undulating landscape. Both are fertile agricultural areas.

The Delta region is bisected by an unusual geological formation known as Crowley's Ridge. A narrow band of rolling hills, Crowley's Ridge rises from 250 to 500 feet (150 m) above the surrounding alluvial plain and underlies many of the major towns of eastern Arkansas.

Northwest Arkansas is part of the Ozark Plateau including the Boston Mountains, to the south are the Ouachita Mountains and these regions are divided by the Arkansas River; the southern and eastern parts of Arkansas are called the Lowlands. All of these mountains ranges are part of the U.S. Interior Highlands region, the only major mountainous region between the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains.[6][7] The highest point in the state is Mount Magazine in the Ozark Mountains; it rises to 2,753 feet (839 m) above sea level.

Buffalo National River, one of many attractions that give the state's nickname The Natural State.

Arkansas is home to many caves, such as Blanchard Springs Caverns. It is currently the only U.S. state in which diamonds are mined[8][9] (near Murfreesboro). Arkansas has the only operating diamond mine in the United States.

Security Camera - Good Idea!

Sometimes it would be nice to have a security camera at my office. About once a month I get a call from a great security service here in Arkansas and they say that my alarm has not been set.

Protocol is that it is supposed to be set by 9:00 pm each day or I will receive a call. Well, it is 10 miles to the office and it would really be great to have that security camera especially one that I could view online.

Not sure if they have those are not but if they did this is an instance it would be nice.

Great idea right. How might security cameras help you out.

Arkansas - Where did that Name come From!

The name Arkansas derives from the same root as the name for the State of Kansas.

The Kansas tribe of American Indians are closely associated with the
Sioux tribes. The word is a French pronunciation of a Quapaw (a related "Kaw" tribe) word meaning "land of downriver people" or "people of the south wind".

The pronunciation of Arkansas was made official by an act of the state legislature in 1881 after a dispute between the two U.S. Senators from Arkansas. One wanted to pronounce the name
/ɑrˈkænzəs/ ar-KAN-zəs and the other wanted /ˈɑrkənsɔː/ AR-kən-saw.

And now you know.

Hogs vs Kentucky

Hogs play Kentucky today -

Used to be a big rivalry -

Question is how long will the Razorbacks hang with them!

Answer is - there is always next year.

By the way RUMOR is that Houston Nutt - told the University about something that caused the Marcus Monk Problem.

Houston - We still have a problem.

Coach Pelphrey - disciplinarian

Courtney Fortson is out for a while. Don't know how long.

What are these guys doing that is getting under Pelphs skin.

Maybe he thinks Courtney needs a haircut.

Maybe he thinks Courtney needs to go to class.

Maybe he thinks Courtney should not get a technical on his last foul.

Maybe - he thinks we should win some games.

Maybe....Maybe....Maybe....

Happiness Awaits in Quechee Lakes!

Quechee Real Estate
Quechee Real Estate
is probably the site you want to explore if you are like I am and nearing retirement. Yes, I would like to retire in a few years and after exploring the Vermont area last fall I am believing that a place like this would be a place to retire to or at least have a second home to go to several times a year.

After exploring out the site I find that Quechee Lakes is Vermont’s premier second home destination. It is located only minutes from the great places such as Dartmouth, Hanover, and Woodstock. It is also just a short 2 hour drive from Boston; 3 hours from Montreal and 4h from NY. You see it is close to lots of great places.

I find also that it offers 4 seasons of activities and recreation.

This is what I find so attractive to the area is the fact that regardless of which season I decide to visit - there is something exciting to do.

Here are some of the many things that I find appealing:

- Tennis, squash, swimming, private lake access, family ski hill, cross country skiing and snowboarding, hiking and biking trails.

- 2 award-winning 18-hole golf courses. - (I really like this.)

- 8 Million dollar club house, with fitness center and fine dining, available only for owners of Quechee Lakes real estate.

- Centered between 6 major ski areas including Killington, Mt. Sunapee and Suicide 6.

- Lots of amenities, social activities and recreation for every member of your family, including horseback riding, polo, antiquing, shopping and plenty more.

What more could one ask for in retirement or just a second home. This could be a place that would meet all of your needs and give you that level of living that everyone could enjoy.

Is this for you? Is this for me? I am certainly going to look into it and would suggest that others do the same.

Great living for the future. That is what it is all about!

John Pelphrey

Well, here we go again. The Basketball Razorbacks by many were expected to be not so good this year - at the beginning of the year. They are living up to that beginning of the year expectation. They are not too good.

Problem is that they had two great games and beat Texas and Oklahoma and this had everyone forgetting that they were not too good and had people speculation how they would be seeded in the NCAA tournament.

Well, time has passed and they are not very good and for some reason some are already calling for Pelphrey's head.

Oil stocks - Russian Stock Market & Russian Stock exchange,?

The question is what does The Russian Stock Market the Russian Stock exchange and oil stock
have in common?

My Answer is - Who knows? You might want to check it out and find out - maybe.

That is what I have to say about that.

Razorbacks sign some good ones!

Today was national signing day for football and Rivals says that Arkansas has the 14th best recruiting class in the nation.

Do the kids know that they are this good?

Do the kids know that much is expected of them?

Can they handle the pressure?

Can they perform up to expectation?

Time will tell.
