You’re back in school and you think all the fun is gone because summer is over. Think again! Get a jump on autumn and have a blast at the 5th Annual Schaefers' Corn Maze, which begins on September 19 and continues to November 1. Held at the Schaefer’s Farm at Lollie Bottoms, northwest of Mayflower, this fall playground has two corn mazes, one large and one small, plus hay rides, a corn maze express for the little ones, corn and sand piles to play in and large hay bales and straw piles. There is also a commercial playground, horseshoes, a little tykes play area, a bonfire area and a corn cannon. A picnic area and concessions are available for when you get hungry.

Hot Springs and Gangsters!
We recently spent a couple of days in Hot Springs Arkansas. The Wife and I decided that they wanted to see the much talked about Gangster Museum.
Well the only real gangster part of this ordeal was the fact that they robbed us out of about $18 to get in. The whole thing if done right could have been pretty interesting. However, we were led through four of five rooms with pictures in them - all pictures that can be found on the internet and downloaded for free. In each room a lady would tell us about the pictures on the wall along with asking people to move so people could see the pictures. For you see they had about twice as many people in the small room as there should be.
Next after telling the group about the pictures on the wall, she would punch up a video on a small screen on the wall and someone else would come on and go through much the same things that we had just been told. - I am a little slow but I figured out by the first room who the real gangsters were.
Well, the wife I made it through this and did gain a few interesting facts - but not many.
Then we went down to the new gaming room at Oaklawn race track and let some gangsters rob us of some more money. HOWEVER THIS TIME AT LEAST WE ENJOYED WORKING WITH THE GANGSTERS!
See Hot springs Arkansas!

Hog Football
Go Hog Wild - It isn't long until Bobby Petrino and the Razorbacks take the field. It also is not long until the ex player of Petrino takes the field with Philadelphia - you know - Michael Vick.
Well, this week also brought out the Razorbacks that are in the NFL - Peyton Hillis at the Denver Broncos, Felix Jones with the Dallas Cowboys, Darren McFadden with the Oakland Raiders.
And then there is Matt Jones - Will anyone pick him up.
We will see - Football is here! - 9 Wins is my guess

Web Hosting Rating and Reviews
One of the things that I like about blogging is the fact that their are many great web hosting sites that make the job easier. That way I can write about how great Arkansas is without worrying about the back end stuff such as is my web site up and running.
Many times though their is a need to find or check out web hosting to get the right fit for what you are doing. You know that company that has what you need and want without all that stuff that you don't need or want. Well I have found that one of the best ways to do that is by using certain comparison sites to find the best website hosting that is available.
Well, that can be done at WebHostRating.com This site has the means to help you find that web hosting that fits your needs. It gives you a top 10 ranking of hosting sites. It gives you an area with many articles. that help you know and understand what is available.
This site even has a nice directory, ratings and awards of web sites that host so that you can make an informed decision. It appears to be an excellent place to start looking when you need or want to host that special web site.
Maybe you should try this out today. In trying to develop and plethora of blogging sites this is very likely the site that I will use to determine what will be used for my hosting and other services.
While you are at it just remember that Arkansas is a great place to live.

Ozark Folk Center State Park – Celebrity Concert with The Wiyos. The Wiyos’ popularity is exploding! Come see them at the Ozark Folk Center between stops in their current summer tour with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellenkamp. Their repertoire combines original compositions along with covers of tin-pan alley tunes and western swing. A typical show may include rustic sounds of the 1930’s and 40’s as well as early jazz or Appalachian string band music. The band is steeped in the influence of the great dance bands and house party music of 80-90 years ago. They are sure to entertain you with the sounds of early swing syncopations, rural blues, and the physical comedy of vaudeville performers. Friends from Texas
Friends from Texas came through this week on the way to moving a child to Vanderbilt for college. It is always amazing to visit with friends and family and rekindle old memories.
It also still amazes me as to the comments that I hear about Arkansas. The comments are always to the idea of how pretty the state is. These comments came this last week as they had traveled up from Texarkana to Little Rock.
My comments about that is that they did not see the really pretty part of the state. The real beauty is in the Ozarks, the rivers, the lakes, the hills of north and north central Arkansas.
Arkansas has great beauty that many have never seen.
The last part of that is the experience that I had last week visiting Mt Magazine.
That is a beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting. About as nice as anything I have seen.
